The snow is believe or not still falling here in Massachusetts and we can't wait for Spring! It will be a messy spring, but we say bring it on!!

Here is a picture of one of the Cushman Baker Bread boxes we made last summer and delivered to a happy customer in Salisbury, MA. It sits on a wonderful old cast iron dolly. It is probably buried in the snow right now, but I am sure it will be beautiful again this summer!

We are busy finding lots of great items for the spring and summer. We are also thinking of doing a treasure hunt with friends at the Brimfield fair this spring - who wants to join us - It should be a good time. If you are interested just send us an e-mail - the more the merrier!

We hope to see you all at the Vintage Bazaar in June in Salisbury, MA. We are also looking forward to doing some shows again at the Assembled market in Assembly square in Somerville. We are also hoping to visit a few shows on the south shore in 2015 as well and will keep you posted!

<![CDATA[Fall is in the air and The Vintage Bazaar is around the corner :-)]]>Wed, 04 Sep 2013 19:35:46 GMThttp://redtractorvintage.com/blog/fall-is-in-the-air-and-the-vintage-bazaar-is-around-the-cornerFall time to me means back to school, Halloween fun, apple picking, cider and the wonderful smell of fallen leaves. It also means another Vintage Bazaar at Pettengill in Salisbury, MA - www.mybazaarlife.com on Saturday September 21st and Sunday September 22nd.

We have been very busy this summer and now have taken on a few new projects including restoring a small home in town (stayed tune for before and after photos...LOL). We are looking forward to The Vintage Bazaar show and can't wait to show off show of our new lighting and furniture we found this summer.

We had many adventures this summer and picked up some unique items along the way. Mike even got out to the American Pickers store (just for fun) while picking up a few pieces in Indiana. We will be keeping a few items (love the horse hitching post and old well pump) and bringing a few to the show this fall.

Can't wait to see you all there! Here is one of our latest pieces - A coffee table made out a 1800s industrial pulley :-)

<![CDATA[New England in the Summer]]>Mon, 29 Jul 2013 03:30:03 GMThttp://redtractorvintage.com/blog/new-england-in-the-summerJust a few reasons why we love New England in the summer - no snow (this is listed first for a reason), the beach and fresh sea air, seafood and for us flea markets and great antique shopping adventures. We are lucky to live in an area that offers some great vintage shopping!

We are busy preparing for the fall Vintage Bazaar at Pettingill Farms in Salisbury, MA on September 21st and 22nd. This weekend we went out to Todd Farm Flea Market in Rowley, MA where we met many great people. We filled the back of the truck with some wonderful pieces for lighting, tables and a few furniture pieces. If you are in the area be sure to stop in on Sunday Morning - http://www.toddfarm.com/ - the earlier you get there the better! They open before the rooster crows at 5am and are closed by 3pm. We will be posting many new items soon on etsy and will try to be selling at Todd Farm by next summer!
For now we will be have many new items for the Vintage Bazaar this September and including some classic Motorcycles from Mike's collection (stories on a recent bike find and picking finds through to Iowa to follow shortly)! My favorite find from Todd Farm was the chippy blue flour tin sifter and Mike found a wonderful oak desk chair. Check out Todd Farm if you are in the area :-)

On the way back we couldn't resist the clams at the Ipswich clam box! As we rolled out happy as clams with full bellies we stumbled upon the most wonderful antique architectural shop in Ipswich - The Baker Sutton House - http://www.bakersuttonhouse.com/. Please be sure to stop in if you are in the area and say hello to Harry :-) We found many great pieces for our tables and other items that will be featured on etsy and at the fall bazaar. We will be very busy building and creating over the next few months. If you are looking for some cool architectural pieces this is the place to stop. We are very excited about our new pieces which will be both functional and beatiful.

Just a bit of a side note - Harry has made some wonderful scultpures and it was a pleasure meeting and talking to him. This is what makes this all so much fun - is meeting some great people and we can't wait to go back in there again to see what Harry has found. Below is sample of his amazing work featured in Gloucester years ago. Stop in to say hello if you are in Ipswich - you won't be disapointed!
A sample of Harry's sculptures - 27 feet tall! :
Below are a few finds from Harry's shop. We are excited about the ornate table base from Harry's which goes very nice with our antique mold:
Mike will be busy creating this old logging tool into some cool lighting!
An old cupboard door with a old iron table base = a perfect vintage steampunk coffee table !
A few Todd Farm finds :-) The old record player / radio is so cool!
<![CDATA[Summer Travels = fun and antique finds]]>Fri, 12 Jul 2013 03:55:05 GMThttp://redtractorvintage.com/blog/summer-travels-fun-and-antique-findsPicture
We finally hit the road this summer for a few weeks of rest, fun and of course antique finds! We ventured out last Wednesday to first to attend our friend’s wedding in beautiful Greenburg, PA near Pittsburgh. We then wandered around on the Bike in search of items that might fit in our saddle bags! We explored many back roads from western PA to the Catskills and Finger Lakes of NY and the Berkshires in MA.

We want to take the car back to a few spots along route 23 in the Catskills and back to Hammondsport in NY for larger items, but for now we found some great items for custom lighting.

We stumbled upon Coudersport, PA which had a wonderful little hotel - The Mill stream Inn. A once booming mill town is now home to many beautiful Victorian homes and farms. We ran into Denny who has a great outlook on life and has a nice antique mall near the center of town. If you are in the area stop in to say hello!

We are always looking for the unusual places to stay and found an old cow barn from 1850's converted to an Inn on Seneca Lake in NY - if you are in the area we highly recommend the Glenoran Tree Farm B&B if you are looking for a peaceful Inn with a wonderful front porch all to yourself - http://www.treefarmbb.com/ . There just happens to also be a few great wineries and a great antique shop in the area.

We wandered into Hammondsport, NY on Keuka Lake and found it was full of great antique shops and a wonderful antique motorcycle museum. Stop in and say hello to Mike and Jen in the Vine and Twig - this is a great new shop in town where we found one of our pulleys, but would like to go back for larger items. Really it is just nice to get out on the road again - we can't wait to get back out there soon! Happy antique hunting and look for our custom lighting coming soon from all our finds!!!!
